About the project
Names before numbers.
Cars Kill People is a memorial for people whose lives were taken by cars.
For many people, deaths caused by cars disappear into statistics: a number in a report, a brief local headline, a line in an annual total.
But every death is a person with a name, a face, a family, a history, and a future that was taken away. This memorial puts those names and stories first.
By remembering people as people, the project works to increase public awareness of traffic violence and to remind everyone who drives that a car is a responsibility, not just a convenience.
